I’m a native New Yorker who moved to California in the eighth grade. My favorite food is still New York thin-crust pizza. I’m also a big fan of watermelon, cherries, iced-decaf-nonfat-mochas from Starbucks, and the Costco-brand bottled water. Left to my own devices I eat too much candy.

I don’t really like to cook, except I do like to make soup—vegetarian borscht to be exact. I started doing that after we adopted our daughters, who are Russian. In all honesty, they are better cooks than I am.

Growing up I wanted straight blonde hair and for my skin to tan and not burn. I also wanted to be the shortest girl in the class. None of that worked out. My hair is naturally curly and my skin is fair and freckled. I’m also tall. Today, all that’s alright with me.

I love dogs in general and greyhounds in particular. I’d probably love your dog, too. I like cats but I’m allergic. I’m married and live with my husband in California. He’s a native New Yorker and understands my love of New York thin-crust pizza among a host of other quirky things too numerous to mention but about which I often write.
